We’re entering the 5th month of the year – it’s moving fast. If everything has sped up now, that is. As we become more aware of our energy potential and focus on becoming energy sovereign, we stop supporting what we can no longer serve. This frees up our energy to focus more on ourselves now that we are no longer focused on others. We have become “energetic empty nesters”.
This will be a key element of May’s energy. Another key point is the shift from healing to alchemy.
There are two Full Moons in May, and the first is the only Scorpio Full Moon, which is a point of realization – what we do, what we want, where we need to let go, and what our joy point is. This theme plays out throughout the month. If April’s energy didn’t take you to the point of transformation, May will do double duty for you. It’s going to be an action-packed month, so get ready.
May begins with the strongest Full Moon of the year and the only one in Scorpio. This is especially interesting to me because as I shared with you, when this particular full moon happens, my life changes significantly. My natal moon is exactly square, and I think that should be taken into account when evaluating our astrological chart. You can read my Substack article “Life Lesson and Trauma Point”. on this link.
The descending energy of May 6th comes after the transcendental energy of April 5th. Five is the number of transition, not transformation. What we did in April will be completed or expanded in May. 6 is the number of descent, this is the first part of our 3-step ascent journey. By descending, we get energy to do the work that needs to be done if we want to fulfill our intention. This is a continuation of the disintegrating or rotating work we did in April.
And the full moon means the completion of what the new moon started. The New Moon on April 17 started this process, especially in close conjunction with Chiron and Eris. The full moon on May 1st sets all of this in motion, whether we’re ready for it or not.
May’s theme is alchemy, and it ends a lot of frustration because it’s an alternative to the endless journey of “healing” that so many teach. I rarely agree with those who claim to be spiritual teachers, because I think many of them do not really understand what they are teaching. They focus on healing, which is an endless cycle of trying to feel better but never getting anywhere.

The alternative, which I have been teaching for decades, is alchemy. We don’t really release energy and, more importantly, the emotions associated with it. Our emotions direct our energy, not the other way around. And trying to “cure” it also violates Newton’s first law of thermodynamics – energy cannot be created or destroyed.
Alchemy refers to the process of energy transformation – one thing becoming another. Lead turns to gold through a process of heat and molecular rearrangement (this is a very broad description, but you get the message).
When we try to “heal” ourselves, the pain actually goes away. But that can’t happen. It can happen that we alchemize the pain – transfer it into something else. And that’s the power of May and the power of this Scorpio full moon.
In May, it will be difficult for us to continue to support people and situations that do not give back and make use of our time and energy. This can be challenging because our support has an agenda – to heal them, us, or both.
This is what we can no longer serve, and once you begin to identify these people and situations, you may find that you have been energizing these “energetic black holes” as I call them for a long time. This is not the time to judge, just notice, alchemize and move on. This is the energy of May and its strong fire and air energy – get it, go for it and don’t regret it.
One more thing about May’s energy: when we stop serving the needs of others with our energy and withdraw it, we find all kinds of energy available to us. We become “energetic empty nesters” like what happens when your kids leave home and you have all kinds of free time you never had before because you took care of them.
The rest of May’s energy report is available in the Energy Sovereign group, along with a weekly guide to aligning, integrating, embodying and mastering the energy of the month.
