If there’s one thing Lindsay Lohan is clear about these days, it’s this: feeling good starts from the inside out. The actress and new mom leans toward routines that support her energy, gut healthand overall balance—and has some refreshingly realistic tips for doing just that.

Lohan spoke exclusively with SELF to share her habits that keep her consistent, feeling strong, and actually enjoying the process.

1. Treat gut health as a daily ritual.

Lohan does not just accidentally deal with wellness, but also on purpose. “I’m really focused on gut health and healthy drinks and any substitutes that I can use to get healthier things into my body at any time,” she tells SELF. “I actually really like doing Pilates and it’s a really nice pastime. And I like the results. It’s really relaxing for me.” Aim for two or three sessions a week – and more if you can.

3. When it comes to food, he is flexible.

Lohan’s approach to eating is about balance, not restriction. “I like to eat a lot of good protein and greens. I like to eat clean because it makes me feel better,” she says.
