I’m constantly amazed at how people use the Law of Resistance without realizing how much it’s holding them back and, even worse, bringing into their lives exactly what they don’t want. I know I’m guilty of doing this myself at times, but I try to watch and change when I’ve activated this law!
We’ve all heard the expression, “What you resist will stick.” Of course, yes. It’s like trying to hold back a car that’s rolling downhill without brakes. Exhaustive. It drains energy.
Can’t, won’t, shouldn’t and no are all words of resistance. If you process your words with your conscious mind in that moment, they have less impact, but they are still not wise. However, when your conscious mind is active and your thoughts or words enter the unconscious, this is what happens.
A child is jumping on the road. He is happy in a dream world, in other words he is not consciously processing your words. You shout “don’t fall over!” The words are given as instructions to the unconscious mind and guess what? Yes, the child immediately falls over.
You are working on a project. Your mind is immersed in it. You think “you shouldn’t extract from this” or “I can’t do that”. And you’re setting yourself up for failure—and burnout.
So what can you do? Frame your words or thoughts positively. Tell the child, “Be careful” or “Be steady.”
Think “I will succeed” or “I can do it”.
Here’s something else that’s tiring. Pull – push. Maybe you want a certain job or want to climb a mountain. When you think about it, you dream about it, you see yourself doing this job or celebrating on top of the mountain. Call the job with your thoughts. You show me the opportunity to climb that mountain. And then you panic. “What if I’m not good enough?” What if I can’t do it? If your resistance is strong enough, it can cause the flu, or even a broken arm. Your mind is incredibly powerful.
Calling something in with thoughts and then pushing it away = resistance
Example. Imagine a huge ball being pushed by two people on either side of it.
These two people are two aspects of yourself.
One says, ‘I want that job/money/status/challenge etc.’
Pushed in the other direction, he says, “I’m afraid I can’t do it. What if I fail? I don’t have enough experience. I might be bored, etc.
The ball does not move, but the two struggling inner personalities are exhausted.
How different it is when you sit down together, decide what you want, and work together. That ball will shoot forward.
So there is something you want, but something inside you is preventing you from achieving it.
1. Write down the fears around you.
2. Surround all fear with golden light.
3. Ask the angel Uriel to change your fears.
4. Decide what you really want and take the steps to get there.
5. Congratulate yourself every time you take a step. Tell yourself how smart, good, strong, etc. you are
6. Thank Archangel Uriel for helping me succeed
Acceptance versus resistance
Focus on the good qualities of your boss instead of resisting the qualities you don’t like.
Watch your career blossom.
Focus on the good qualities of your partner or friend instead of resisting their annoying quirks.
Watch your relationship deepen and your friendships grow warmer.
And all the energy you used for irritation while resisting is now available for happiness. See 36 Spiritual Laws for more information
